[DR. SMITH]Reading between the lines, this part obviously for the role of William Bell. The inside word is that they want get a big name to fill the spot - someone who's name could be promoted along side Anna Torv, Josh Jackson, and John Noble.
(MALE, 55 – 65) Brilliant scientist, authoritative, comes from old money. A contemporary of Walter Bishop (JOHN NOBLE). One scene this season, major recur next season. RECURRING
This also means that William Bell is NOT someone we have already seen on the show, despite what Jeff Pinkner keeps saying...
I'm thinking someone like Victor Garber (Alias), Clancy Brown (Highlander, Carnivale), or Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner)? Who would you like to like to see play William Bell?

Clancy Brown would be cool..DHARMA style lol
Sounds good...we've been waiting for "the important scientist". Can hardly wait.
Scale of 1-10, 10 the best.
Rutger - 10. Can do classy, scary, intelligent, rough and complex. Can bring all aspects of Bell.
Clancy - 8. Scary, rough and complex. Good fit as the young Bell. Not the best fit as multi-nationalist Bell.
Victor - 5. Complex, intelligent and classy. Lacks the backstory Bell 'edge' we expect.

Clancy Brown no question about it!!!
Victor Garber, with an evil twist would be totally sick. Heck yes. I would totally be for it. Now that guy, Clancy Brown, he was in an episode of Alias, and gosh, he would piss you off. And that other guy, Rutger Hauer, he just...ugh. I was thinking Ron Rifken (Alias), Or even better, if you remember in season 4 of Alias, The SLOANE CLONE. Yep, that's who I want. The sloane clone.
I would really love to see Terry O'Quinn in this role. He seems perfect for the part and has been in both Lost and Alias.
How about Christopher Walken for the part?
SPOCK!!!!!!! Its gonna be SPOCK
(and by SPOCK I mean Nemoy)
