Joshua Jackson Gets Down and Dirty on the Set of FringePosted March 18, 2011 11:49 by Lindsay Miller

Joshua Jackson looked a little worse for wear last night on the set of Fringe in Vancouver. He sported dirty makeup and fake bruises as the cast shot what appeared to be an explosion scene. The actor has been taping the series in Canada recently after a stint in LA last month spending Valentine's Day with his girlfriend, Diane Kruger, and attending the premiere of her latest movie, Unknown.

Little Spoiler From Ausiello and Jeff Pinkner

      Email Post       4/20/2011 02:06:00 PM

Question: When are we going to see some Peter/Bolivia interaction on Fringe? Any teases you could offer? —Jeff

Ausiello: Only this one from exec producer Jeff Pinkner sent via email: “Peter and Bolivia’s story is FAR from over.” I’m intrigued by Pinkner’s choice to write “far” in all caps. Could that mean what I think it… ? Nah. There’s no way.

Fringe executive producer Jeff Pinker even tweeted about, and sounded a little surprised by the reveal:
Anyone see the promo during Idol for tomorrow's Fringe? Verrrry revealing. Thoughts?

Got any scoop on this week's episode of Fringe? — Charlie
NATALIE: Is it a coincidence that "Brown Betty," last season's musical episode, was Episode 219, one of the most experimental in Fringe's history, and this Friday's episode, No. 319, is titled "Lysergic Acid Diethylamide," aka the full name of LSD? Nope! Is it also a coincidence that William Bell (Leonard Nimoy) has a presence in both episodes? Maybe not, but it's certainly odd, his being dead and all. Intrigued? Watch this trippy promo.

Q.What can we expect from the Fringe finale? — Rob
A.
If Fringe exec producers Jeff Pinkner and Joel H. Wyman’s teases turn out to be true, the three-episode arc (beginning April 22) that closes out this season will likely send theorists into a tailspin. “Pretty much every question anyone had this season will get answered,” Pinkner says. “If we do our jobs correctly, we’ll make people look at the entire season through a different perspective.” Source:insidetv.ew.com

Look who's back in Friday's new episode EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

      Email Post       4/11/2011 07:11:00 PM

EW.com has an amazing new spoiler about this friday's episode.

“There is an entire world out there with no rhyme or reason.” You will hear these ominous words intoned on this Friday’s new episode of Fringe, which launches the sci-fi saga into its season 3 endgame — and sets the stage for season 4. Who’s doing the intoning? We could spoil it for you — or we could let you click on the video below and do the spoiling yourself. My guess is that you can easily guess, and in fact, talking about it further will only clarify the matter. So SPOILER ALERT! for my remaining prattle. Produced by Fox and presented here exclusively, the promo has the cast of Fringe touting the return of a certain iconic character — and teasing the fact that said character will be returning in a most curious fashion. In a word: Fascinating. The video awaits. And come back Friday for more intel on the episode, as well as my interview with exec producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman about Fox’s (BRILLIANT!) decision to renew Fringe for another season.

Did you expect this return?

Fringe Discuss *Spoiler Edition* Part 2: Who Would You Save?

      Email Post       4/11/2011 10:58:00 AM

In the last Fringe Discuss, we pondered the unthinkable scenario - one of the main Fringe characters dying. Now, lets flip things around.

Hypothetically, lets assume for the purposes of this "Fringe Discuss" that the doomsday device gets activated and one of the universes is destroyed:
  1. Which universe would you save? (Assume Olivia, Peter, and Walter will be safe in either scenario)

  2. The Blue universe is destroyed. Olivia, Peter, and Walter all crossover safely, but they can bring one more person with them. Who else would you save from the Blue-verse?

  3. The Red universe is destroyed. Olivia can cross over and save one person from "over there", and she can also save Peter's baby. Who would you save from the Red-verse? And would you also save Peter Jr.?

Feel free to answer all three questions, even if you pick one universe over the other.

Which Universe Would You Save?

Who would you save from the Blue Universe?

Who would you save from the red universe?

Fringe Discuss *Spoiler Edition*: Who Should Die In The Fringe Season Finale?

      Email Post       4/08/2011 02:35:00 PM

A recent TV Guide article has a very dire quote from Fringe executive producer J.H. Wyman about the season finale:

"You can expect a character you love to die."

Hypothetically, lets assume for the purposes of this Fringe Discuss, that he is referring to either Olivia, Peter, or Walter. The season finale has already been filmed with three alternative endings, and J.H. Wyman wants YOU to make "Sophie's Choice":

Who would YOU pick to kill off and why, and also how would their death affect the storyline.

Since this Fringe discuss is in the Fringe Spoilers section, feel free to back up your picks with any spoilery information you like, but don't assume you already know who it may be, since some spoilers may be out of context or red herrings.

If you had to choose, who would you pick to die in the Fringe season finale?

Q. Is Leonard Nimoy ever coming back to Fringe? — James

A. I get this question pretty much every week. So I recently posed it verbatim to exec producers Jeff Pinkner and Joel H. Wyman. “Leonard is going to play — sorry to tease this — but Leonard is going to play an unexpected role in the show,” Pinkner said. Wyman agreed coyly, “Right.” These two are geniuses … but they also make my brain hurt.

Fringe Casting News: Season 3 Finale Role Filled

      Email Post       4/05/2011 05:24:00 PM

TV Line has an exclusive scoop on the casting of the season finale character Moreau, that was mentioned in a recent casting call:
"Brad Dourif ... has been tapped to play a mysterious character named Moreau in the sure-to-be-intense Fringe finale airing Friday, May 6.

The wrinkle is that the original casting breakdown for this character specifically sought a “well-known Japanese actor … who speaks English” to fill the role.

Dourif is not a Japanese actor [although he does speak English]"
Brad Dourif was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Doc Cochran in the HBO series Deadwood (which also starred Paula Malcomson as Trixie. Malcomson was also in the Fringe episode Stowaway as Dana Gray - the woman who couldn't die). He also played Grima Wormtongue in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, which also starred John Noble.

Peter & Olivia Don't Remember Meeting As Children:Will We Ever Find Out Why Not?

      Email Post       4/01/2011 03:10:00 PM

I have a Fringe question that’s been bothering me for quite a bit. Will we ever find out why Olivia and Peter don’t remember meeting each other? — Gloria

Not this season, says executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman. And possibly not ever. Pinker says, “I think that one of the things that we have been keeping in mind, and the viewer should keep in mind: both Joel and I – and I’m sure you’re the same way — had really close friends when we were 8 that we can hardly picture in our mind right now. And this was just a chance meeting. Olivia [also] didn’t remember meeting Walter, who played a much more significant role in her life. She didn’t remember meeting him throughout the first whole season until she was reminded.”

Adds Wyman, “There’s also something to be said that when traumatic experiences, you know, you could bury that stuff. So you bury some of the good stuff along with the bad stuff because some of those good things are triggers for the bad things.” What’s interesting, says Pinkner, is that earlier in the series, neither fans nor the creative team really noticed that even after years as Walter’s test subject, Olivia should have remembered Walter. “And yet, because the Peter and Oliva moment was so romantic and so full of hope, you remember, “Oh, why doesn’t she remember that one?” Which says something lovely about us all as people; we want to remember the good things and leave the bad things.”
Yeah. These guys seriously speak this deep on the phone. I died of heartbreak multiple times. Sigh. Thank God this show was renewed.
